Check Out Zooey Deschanel's New Beach House
Zooey Deschanel just purchased a beautiful new beach house on the California coast, and every man in town is sure to be jealous.
Why? Because the place has a rockin' man cave in the basement.
You might remember Zooey Deschanel as the actress from Failure to Launch, Almost Famous, and the Fox sitcom New Girl. She’s been a fixture of the Los Angeles scene for a few years now and has decided to set down some real roots with the purchase of a swank new beach house to the tune of $5.575 million, according to TMZ.
The home is 4,900 square feet, has 5 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, a beautiful ocean view from atop a hill, and a short downhill walk to the beach. But it’s not the view that’s the most compelling to husband Jacob Pechenik.
In the basement is the manliest man cave that ever manned. There's a pool table, foosball table, shuffleboard, popcorn machine, and a vintage wooden bar complete with a register for when Zooey actually wants to start charging guests. Not that she ever would.
According to Property Shark, Manhattan Beach is the 32nd most expensive zip code in the United States and has the highest median price per square foot of all 88 cities in LA County.
Dropping big dough on a new abode might not be the only cash Deschanel tosses around this winter. TMZ also reports that that actress is being sued by a rancher over a horse she leased in 2013.

According to court documents, Zooey leased the horse under an agreement that she wouldn’t work the animal too hard as she’s an avid equestrian and loves to go jumping on horseback. Zooey signed a contract stating "no more than 3 jumping lessons per week," but after a few months she returned the horse "injured and unusable."
The owner of the horse is sued for damages and veterinary bills for the now lame horse.
The suit was filed in 2014, but lingered in the courts until earlier this month when a judge ordered Deschanel to appear at a mandatory settlement conference. Her lawyers tried to argue she didn’t need to attend as she’s a busy movie star, but the judge was having none of it.
No word on when the conference is set to begin or how much she’ll be required to pay.
