Scarlett Johansson Makes Bible Verses Sound Sexy in "Sexy Bible" Track
Pope Francis’ album has got some competition. Scarlett Johansson has teamed up with comedian Mike O’Brien for his latest comedy record, Tasty Radio, and proved she can make even Bible verses sexy.
In the track titled “Sexy Bible,” Johansson talks seductively while reading Deuteronomy 21:18 from the Old Testament.
“If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son…his father and mother shall take hold of him and bring him to the elders at the gate of his town,” Johansson reads in a breathy, sexy tone.
“I’ve always wanted to do a sketch about the Old Testament, specifically Deuteronomy,” O’Brien, who is a former Saturday Night Live writer, told Rolling Stone. "The Old Testament is filled with beautiful stuff, but also some weirdly specific, random rules and speeches. Deuteronomy could be called 'Laws for Stuff That Will Never Apply to 99 percent of Civilization,' like what to do with a dead animal you find [or] what to do to a woman who grabs the junk of a guy who her husband is fighting. [It's] a very funny time capsule of what those guys were worried about back then."
In addition to Johansson, the SNL alum’s album also features pals Cecily Strong, Jason Sudeikis, Fred Armisen, John Mulaney, and Seth Meyers.
