Nicholas Edward Cave AO was born on September 22, 1957, in Warracknabeal, Australia. His parents are Dawn CaveTreadwell and Colin Frank Cave. His father was an English and mathematics teacher at the local technical school while his mother was a librarian at his high school.
Nick Cave lost his father in a car collision at the age of 19. He spent his childhood in Warracknabeal and Wangaratta in rural Victoria. He got sacked from Wangaratta High School when he was 13 years old. He and his family later relocated to Melbourne, Murrumbeena.
Nick Cave continued his education at Caulfield Grammar School. He later studied painting at the Caulfield Institute of Technology in 1976. However, Nick dropped out of school in 1977 to pursue a career in music. He rose into the spotlight with the Kylie Minogue duet “Where the Wild Roses Grow” (1996), and “Into My Arms” (1997).
Nick Cave is best known as the frontman of the rock band Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. He was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2007. Nick Cave was named an Officer of the Order of Australia in 2017.
Aside from music, Nick Cave has appeared in movies with his first film appearance in Wim Wenders’ 1987 film Wings of Desire.
