They are black-leather Imperial loafers made by the Florsheim shoe company. They show a bit of wear and tear; however, they are still in excellent condition.
Lots of other Michael Jackson memorabilia is going up for sale at an auction to be held by GWS Auctions in Los Angeles on May 26, 2018. The reserve starting-bid for these iconic shoes is $10,000. They are expected to sell for considerably more than the minimum bid.

International Business Times said that in addition to the magic shoes, there will be a red cardigan jacket designed by Christian Dior and a riding helmet studded with Swarovski crystals, which Michael Jackson liked to use when riding his horses.
The History of the ‘Magic Shoes’
Michael Jackson wore these shoes while rehearsing the music video for the song Billie Jean. This was the first moment anyone got to see his famous moonwalk. There is photographic evidence showing Michael Jackson wearing these exact shoes during the rehearsals.
Jackson was so happy with the help of choreographer, Lester Wilson, that he gave him this pair of shoes as a keepsake. Since then, they have been in Wilson’s possession and never before put up on auction for sale.
Brigitte Kruse, who is the owner of GWS Auctions, said that having such an extraordinary piece of history from Michael Jackson’s career is amazing. The owner of the shoes will be able to state that these were the first pair of shoes worn by Michael Jackson while performing his moonwalk move and this memorabilia “is beyond special.”
Michael Jackson wrote the song Billie Jean about his story of when a woman accused him of being the father of her child. It was on the Thriller album, which is one of the greatest selling albums of all time.
