Lil Wayne Reacts To Viral Wax Figure: 'You Tried Tho'
Lil Wayne‘s legendary status has led to him being honored in a variety of ways over the years. The 41-year-old recently reacted to a wax figure made in his image, though it wasn’t an entirely positive response.
The Hollywood Wax Museum in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., debuted its Weezy wax figure in the summer of 2022 and it went viral this week. While it did a decent job depicting his tattoos, hair, and jewelry, the face was far from accurate to the real-life source. Seemingly, this was the first time the New Orleans rapper saw it, and he had some choice words.
“Sorry wax museum but dat sh*t ain’t me!” he wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Monday (Oct. 23). “You tried tho and I appreciate the effort.” Fans shared the “Fireman” rapper’s sentiment but were a lot less gentle. “They need to fire whoever is making these wax figures,” one user wrote. “Wax figure Off a perc 30,” another said. Lil Wayne’s comments took place soon after Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson humorously dished on his own wax figure. The Grévin Museum in Paris, France, debuted the waxwork and the internet quickly roasted it due to the skin color not matching Johnson in real life.
The Fast & Furious actor posted a video of comedian James Andre Jefferson Jr. making jokes about the wax figure on Sunday (Oct. 22) before requesting some changes.
“I knew my boy @jamesjeffersonj had this Rock wax statue in his roasting crosshairs,” Johnson wrote. “Legit belly laughed at this… For the record, I’m going to have my team reach out to our friends at Grévin Museum, in Paris France so we can work at ‘updating’ my wax figure here with some important details and improvements, starting with my skin color.” Check out the Instagram post below.
