Will Ospreay Provides Update On His Shoulder, Previews Match With Kenny Omega
Will Ospreay says his shoulder is feeling as good as it physically can be.
Ospreay went down with a shoulder injury that forced him to miss some time in March and the beginning of April. Since his return, he has wrestled for NJPW and 1PW, and he also competed on the June 16 episode of AEW Rampage. He also faced Lance Archer at NJPW Dominion.
Speaking with Knotfest, Ospreay was asked to provide an update on his shoulder after the match against Archer.
“As good as it physically can be, the weight difference was for sure a factor facing Lance,” Ospreay said. “The sheer mass of the guy and it not being fully healed was extremely difficult to be able to hit any type of power moves, so had to go for strikes instead.
Ospreay will face Kenny Omega at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. When asked about the pressure to top his Wrestle Kingdom 17 match against Omega, given the way the bout drew plenty of praise. He noted there is way more pressure, and heading into the rematch, he is determined to get the victory.
“There is way more pressure as everyone will always want to be able to top it,” Ospreay said. “This time, I’m more motivated to get the right results and have answers to his offense.”

WrestleZone will have coverage of AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door as it airs on June 25.
